Empowering Futures for Mankato Youth

Evenson Concrete Systems recently sponsored an event fundraiser for MY Place, an extraordinary facility and program dedicated to nurturing the well-being and potential of the youth in our community. This sponsorship not only underscores the company's commitment to community development but also sheds light on the transformative impact of MY Place in shaping the future of these children.

At the heart of this initiative is the "I AM Exhibit," a powerful portrayal of the joy and boundless potential inherent in the MY Place community. Renowned photographer Josh Madson skillfully captured the essence of these children, highlighting the strength within each of them and showcasing their ability to soar beyond the constraints of their circumstances.

MY Place serves as a crucial sanctuary for youth, offering academic support, extracurricular activities, and a safe space to forge connections with trusted adults. The recent fundraiser not only went to help provide essential physical resources, such as hot meals and necessities, but it also emphasized the often unseen impact of positive interactions on children's mindsets.

Erin Simmons, Executive Director of MY Place captures the essence of MY Place succinctly, "The kids at MY Place are filled with joy and unlimited potential."

Striking portraits from the “I AM” Exhibit were printed in large-scale format and showcased at a fundraiser held at the Historic Post Office in downtown Mankato. In addition to the fundraiser event, MY Place also took the kids who use their programs to see the exhibit, which was a wonderful reminder that the kids the MY Place is serving are real people who are present in our community.

These impactful photographs not only serve as a testament to the joy, hope, and potential within the MY Place community but will also be permanently installed as part of MY Place's renovation and expansion at 1315 Stadium Road.

In supporting MY Place, ECS plays a crucial role in fostering a sense of belonging, empowerment, and civic responsibility among the youth. This sponsorship is a testament to the shared belief that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish, and through continued support of local organizations, we can build a stronger, more empowered community together.
